This program addresses appropriate protective measures to be implemented when working with the multiple agricultural chemicals. The intended audience includes workers in production agriculture with potential exposure to chemicals, ag business owners and managers, nursery operators, and family farm and ranch operators. It has also been designed for health care professionals working in rural or agricultural communities. At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:
Increase an understanding of the revised Hazard Communication Standard
Differentiate between OSHA and the EPA and locate their resources
Identify aspects of appropriate personal protective equipment
Review examples of some common agricultural chemicals
Locate product labels that will assist in selection of appropriate protective wear

The Cholinesterase Monitoring program is directed toward workers and managers in production agriculture who may have potential for exposure to pesticides. It is also designed for health care professionals. The focus of this program can be tailored to specific audiences. Participants in this presentation will learn how to:
Assess the human health importance of cholinesterase screening
Identify which types of pesticides require cholinesterase screening and the people most likely to be exposed to those pesticides
Analyze screening protocols including baseline testing, laboratory specifics, and follow up applicable to clinic sites ( this is a focus area when presenting to health care professionals)
Evaluate appropriate testing and follow up for acute exposures
Discuss roles and responsibilities in screening, prevention, and treatment of pesticide exposures.
Participants of Chemical Safety program will learn how to select PPE, proper storage, labeling, and usage of chemicals. An understanding of the of the updated Hazard Communications Standard. They will gain knowledge to differentiate between OSHA and EPA. Included is a review of some of the commonly used chemicals in agriculture and precautions to take when using these products. Resources such as farm safety checklists will be shared.
